Utah: Part II

(There are 2 new posts below)

After our trip to Utah, I've decided that our kids are going to be very well rounded.  I always joked about this, but this trip definitely confirmed it.  Brad and I's families are so different.  While with Brad's family we went boating and biking, with my family we went to museums and art galleries.  I love it!

We went to the new City Creek.  Its beautiful!  A wonderful addition to the downtown area.

Davis County Fair/Demolition Derby

The new Natural History Museum of Utah.

It was awesome!  Carson dug for dinosaur bones, watched a roomful of paleontologists work, and saw many Utah dinosaurs, learned about the native americans, and Utah's climate.

Went to Newman's Antique in Bountiful.  I should get a picture of the place, but I haven't.  For the past 3 summers when we go to Utah we've gone to Newman's to buy some artwork for our house.  Newman is an elderly man who's house is like a show from hoarders, except that instead of trash its filled to the brim of antiques that he has bought from estate sales.  Its amazing.  Here's our newest pieces of art:

We saw my grandparents and Matt and Sherry, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures.  Went out for Sushi with Marilyn, Andy, and Daniel where I still couldn't bring myself to eat any raw fish (I don't like cooked fish so trying it raw just grosses me out).  I had basic one with shrimp, but thats it.

Then we had a picnic at the park with my Aunt Sara and her family.  It was fun to get together with everyone!  We wish we lived closer so we could see each other more!

Utah: Pineview

We love going boating with the fam!

Carson is one cool looking dude!

my sweet boys

 Carson out on the tube:

Tanners faces.  My sister Marilyn says he looks like a Klingon from Star Trek.

Tanners first time on the tube.  It was a pretty smooth ride, but every time we went over some bumps Tanner squealed with delight.  He was pretty cute.

 Sunset wake boarding (Brad)

Tanner being Captain of the boat and lovin' it!

Utah: Part I

We were able to go visit family for a week up in Utah.  Its always nice to escape the desert heat and enjoy a fun filled trip with family.  We spent the first half of the trip with the Clarks.  Since we only spent 4 days with each family.  Each day was crammed with activities.

We went fishing!  Brad and Carson even caught a fish!  Well it was a trout farm so if they didn't catch one it would be kind of embarrassing.  The kids sure had fun though and Carson even touched it.

Went to a the park and splash pad.

Visited Great-Grandparents

 I {heart} this picture!

Visited Uncle Ryan at work

Went to Bear Lake and played on the Beach while Brad and his father and brother biked around the Lake.

Sleepy Heads!

 They made it!

...and of course you can't go to Bear Lake without stopping at La Beau's to get their famous Raspberry shakes!

Preschool

Carson started preschool this week!  Actually his preschool started last week, but we were in Utah on vacation.  Ooops.  I guess I'm not used to planning our vacations around school.

He's been so excited to go for the past few weeks.  I've talked to him about how he is going to learn shapes, colors, and letters, then Carson quickly chims in "and play with friends!"  (I think he thinks school is just a big play date.)

In his classroom before school starts.

Yesterday was his first day and the teacher said Carson did great and that he's an excellent listener.  Carson came home and said he learned all about the letter A.  They talked about their favorite animals (Carson said his were the elephants) and sang the alligator/monkey song.  He then made me sing that song to him all day yesterday while he did the actions.

He loves preschool, and I love that he is enjoying learning.

10 Months

Tanner is my little buddy. He loves his momma and has a little separation anxiety, but if I'm out of sight he does fine.  Its only when he can see or hear me that he freaks out.

Tanner got 4 new teeth all in one week!  His top chompers came in making a grand total of 6 teeth.

Tanners newest thing to do is to scrunch up his face.  It is to die for!  LOVE it!  He does it all the time, but the funniest is after he is eating some sweets like ice cream or cake and he'll say mmmmmm after every bite.

Tanners newest tricks are clapping and he is starting to wave goodbye. He loves to bite my face which I'm hoping is his way of giving me kisses.  Can't believe he'll be 1 in a couple of months!  Time sure does fly!
