Pool Days

The rest of our summer was filled with lots and lots of pool days.  We feel so blessed to live in a wonderful community with lots of choices in pools!

Carson went off the diving board for the first time!

and Logan really became my little fishy daredevil.  He is so cute and loves to go swimming!  Jumping off the edge into the pool, get out, jump off...repeated over and over.

The Beach

We made it to the beach!  We try to make it at least once every summer (last year was the exception) and it couldn't have been a more perfect day!  Although it may not be Florida's picturesque white sand beaches we still have fun and had this part of the beach pretty much to ourselves.

Logan saw a helicopter!

The water was so warm, almost too warm.  And murky too, the perks of having the Mississippi River flow onto your side of the gulf.  We still had a blast though.
It was nice to sit in the shade and read a good book.

Carson and Logan loved jumping the waves!
The beach is such a fun summer tradition!  Can't wait to go again!

Back at the Cabin Again

The kids and I were supposed to return home to Texas on a Wednesday, but my brother Daniel was arriving to Utah (he was out in Ohio selling pest control) the following day to spend the weekend with Kelsie and her family for a family vacation.  So we decided to extend our trip so we could see our uncle Daniel.

One of the things that Daniel wanted to show off to his future in-laws was the family cabin, so for a second time this trip to Utah, we headed to Duschene.  This time the whole family came.

It was really nice to get to know Kelsie's family.  They were so friendly and personable you could tell they genuinely wanted to get to know us.  It was another great time at the cabin.

Uncle Andy is always so good with the kids!

there's always a beautiful sunset when we go!
Uncle Daniel showed the Sartain's and the two boys how to shoot a BB gun.  A Red Ryder BB gun to be exact.
During this trip to the cabin, this was Carson's favorite thing to do.
"don't shoot your eye out!"

Carson was a pro shooting!  He would be outside practicing and practicing, I was amazed at how many pings he would get from hitting the target!  He got seven in a row.  He now wants a BB gun for Christmas.

We also took the Sartain's to Starvation reservoir to play, and fortunately it didn't storm on us this time!
Logan was really wanting to go on the canoe!

So Daniel and Kelsie took him for a ride.  I think he enjoyed it.

Tanner loved this green tube!  He had so much fun just floating in the reservoir

The boys having fun playing frisbee
Kelsie's sister Katie was so good to Logan.

and of course we rode the rhino lots of times!

Grandpa Murphy especially took us out on really long rides.

the boys loved it!

We also got to paint our rocks this time, something we missed out on on our last visit.

staying up late playing one of my favorite games; scattergories!

Since the cabin was pretty full, I got to sleep on the floor with the boys.  They thought that was so fun, although my back sure didn't think so the next morning!

Going to the cabin again was a great way to end our Utah trip!  Excited to be going back to Utah in November for Thanksgiving/Daniel's wedding!

Liberty Park

We met up with Katherine and Olivia at Liberty Park to have a nice summer picnic and to play.  Growing up we would come to Liberty Park a lot to feed the ducks and to roll down the big grassy hill, so it was fun to now be able to bring our kids.

We of course had to ride the fun rides.  Tanner was so happy to get a batman airplane.

and a batman car.  Can you tell Batman is his favorite?
The boys love the Ferris wheel!

Carson wasn't sure if he wanted to ride the swings or not.  They looked a little scary.  So I had to bribe him, but he ended up loving the swings and went on them twice!

First ride with Aaron, Grandma and Aunt Kat

I went with him on his second ride it was so fun at first, and then I started to feel a little sick and a little nauseous.  Guess I'm getting old!
Logan and Olivia waiting for us

the little kids were so excited to ride the train
while Carson, Aaron, and I rode on the paddle boards across the lake

Carson loved steering the boat

and to top off our fun summer afternoon we got some yummy ice-cream cones.  It was a perfect summer day.
