Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2020.  2020 was quiet the year and it was nice to have a day to count our many blessings.  So much to be Thankful for and a beautiful day to celebrate it with the ones I'm most thankful for.

Last year we started doing our own little Turkey Trot and wanted to keep the tradition! It’s just a little exercise with the kids before our big feast! As you can tell from the picture Carson really enjoyed himself 😉
He’s such a big help when it comes to preparing the food and this year he wanted to make a famous Peruvian drink for our dinner.
It’s boiled purple corn, pineapple, and cinnamon. It taste similar to an apple cider it’s a perfect fall drink.
This year with just the 5 of us I didn't want to go to big with Thanksgiving.  Well that was easier said than done, because Thanksgiving is all about tradition and it's just not the same without all our favorite Thanksgiving food.  So even though I said I wanted it to be small we ended up going big!  But it was worth it.  After a year of such uncertainty having comfort food was just what the doctor ordered.  Plus having lots of leftovers was also nice to have! Leftover thanksgiving food is the best!

and this was legitimately what Logan asked for Thanksgiving.  Ugh.

After filling our bellies we enjoyed some time watching the new Pixar movie Soul on Disney+.  It was a good day.

Boys update

Picture day for these two handsome boys!

Tanner's birthday party.  Pizza, night games and smores.
Living his best life at the park

All the boys are in scouts this year and loving it.  Here's Tanner working on building a tool box

Logan's little lion group met at the wild reservation for a little hike and to look at nature

Carson and Tanner passed their blue belt test! Carson broke the thick board for the first time, but did it no problem. Now they’re onto Blue red strip! I know the color system probably doesn’t mean anything to anyone else, but they are almost halfway to getting their black belt!

Family bike ride, it’s nice we’re all able to ride together!

Over a year ago Carson broke his front tooth in half colliding into Logan's head at the trampoline park.  It was fixed by the dentist and all was fine until a couple weekends ago when Carson's tooth was really becoming quite painful to him.  Out of all the boys Carson has the highest pain tolerance and so we knew it was serious when he was starting to cry because it hurt so much.  So we scheduled a dentist appointment for the next day which is a good thing we did because that morning he woke up with the fattest lip (sign of infection) and they immediately sent him to the endodontist.
Root canal for Carson!  We got lucky in the fact that without knowing it the dentist referred us to our friend/neighbor!  He was great and got Carson in right away.  Unfortunately Carson's infection was so bad and swollen they could only do half of the root canal and then he had to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks until he could finish the root canal.  Yesterday Carson was able to finish the root canal and all is over and done with.  No more pain and he was able to keep his real tooth.  Yay!

Sweet 16

Happy sweet 16 to us! I know what everyone is thinking and yes I was a really young bride. But we’ve grown up together mostly because of each other. We know each others ins and outs. We’re so intertwined he’s just a part of me. We’ve grown up together and now we’re growing old together. Love you fiercely Brad! 💕

Veterans Day

Celebrated Veterans day by having the boys write about the veterans in our family to be displayed in their school.
"Grandpa Murphy shouldn't have been drafted into World War II due to a widowed mother and critically injured brother but went to serve in the Pacific and was in combat for 7-8 months straight.  He was in the 1st invasion at Luzon."

"Dominic comes from a long line of Navy Man in his family.  He enlisted right after high school and is currently stationed in Virginia."

We are so proud of them for all they did/do for our country.

The rest of utah

Saw Mason play soccer and he scored the last winning goal right before the whistle blew!

Brent took us for a ride in the side by side up Willard peak

Did a little birthday celebration for Tanner at Ryan and Sasha's.  Poor guy had his birthday party rescheduled a couple times so we were making it up to him.

Brad took the boys up to Logan while I got mani/pedis with my mom and sisters/inlaw for my mom's birthday.  They found this cool structure on USU campus.  Not pictured on the way back to Odgen that night after the spa treatment I got into a car accident with my father-in-laws car.  Barely a scratch on his car, but the airbag deployed.  Ugh.  Not fun.  Haven't caused an accident since I was 16 and hit black ice.

playing some backyard games.

It was a beautiful fall weekend while we were in town.  We enjoyed seeing and spending time with all our family even under the circumstances.
