I hate when people ask me this, because this is usually me answer:
me? ...humm...well, ummm. lets see... what is new with me? ...I guess I went to Walmart today.
I'm pretty boring and I guess when something is new with me it usually means I did something with the boys or the boys/Brad did something and I claim it, because it does affect me.
but I have done some things lately without the boys that I thought I'd share.
I had a girls night with my cousin-in law (is that a term?) Anyway my cousins wife. She got tickets from a client to go see Stomp, a broadway/Vegas production, where people bang on trash cans and such. Since my cousin had to work she called me and we made a girls night of it. We went out to eat and then to the production. It was amazing! I loved it.
I also had the opportunity to go the the Gila Valley temple with our youth. It was the first time I've been able to go since I've been in YW, because the last time they went I was still nursing Tanner and he was to young for me to leave him behind. So it was nice to be able to go this time.
I haven't been to the Gila Valley Temple since the open house a few years ago (Mesa is actually our temple district, but they are sooo busy and hard to get an appointment unless its our stakes allotted time) and going to Safford made my heart ache a little for our old stomping ground.
Anyway, I didn't go inside, but instead volunteered to stay with some of our youth who are not baptized yet. We have a foreign exchange student from Germany, as well as a brother and a sister (14&12) getting baptized in 2 weeks. It was a really neat experience to be with them. We walked around the temple grounds and talked about what temples mean and we waited in the waiting room while we watched lds videos and looked at the special Ensign on Temples.
I am enjoying my new quiet/me time. When Carson is in preschool its also Tanners nap time, and I'm amazed at how much I can get done as well as relax in just those 2 1/2 hours. I love it. For I think all of us mothers know that we need some alone time to rejuvenate!
