Broadway 24-25 season

This past year’s Houston Broadway season was such a special one! We got to see:

✨ Peter Pan – which instantly brought me back to childhood memories of watching the movie at my grandma’s house.

✨ Shucked – the biggest surprise of the season for me, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did!

✨ & Juliet – hands down my favorite. It reminded me of Moulin Rouge with its contemporary music and incredible energy.

✨ Mamma Mia! – always a crowd-pleaser, you can’t go wrong with ABBA classics.

✨ The Wiz – Logan was my date for this one, and it was such a fun, fresh take on The Wizard of Oz.

✨ Life of Pi – stunningly told with breathtaking puppetry that brought the story to life in such a unique way.

After about 7 years of having season tickets, this was our last year before taking a break. I’ll definitely miss these shows, the talented casts, and all of the fun date nights. Such a gift to share so many memories through live theater. 💙🎭

2023-2024 Broadway Season

That’s a wrap on this season’s Broadway shows! 🎭✨

We saw an incredible lineup:

🎤 MJ

🔥 Tina: The Tina Turner Musical

🇫🇷 Les Misérables

👻 Beetlejuice

🎸 Girl from the North Country

💄 Hairspray

🌟 Funny Girl

Hands down, Les Misérables stole the show with its powerful story and unforgettable music. But the energy and hits from MJ and Tina had the whole audience buzzing—such fun performances!

Girl from the North Country… well, it was a bit of a head-scratcher. Beautiful music, but the story left us confused and a little bored. It was my least favorite this season.

Funny Girl wasn’t too funny to Tanner who was my date because he slept through the whole thing. But to be fair he has been waking up early for early morning football practice. I for one really liked the music and especially thought the main actress killed it.

Already looking forward to next season—bring on more Broadway magic! 🎟️✨

Intermission is Over

After a year and a half off due to Covid, the intermission was over and Broadway is back! I sure did miss our date nights at the Hobby Center, and so excited to see some of this years plays that got canceled when the pandemic hit.

First up: My Fair Lady
No one can replace Audrey Hepburn. No one.

Had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised and loved it. It was hilarious.

We were in the room when it happened. We were excited to take Carson and Tanner to this 2 years ago before the shutdown, and after all the waiting it was finally back! Brad was originally going to come but Logan’s babysitter fell through and so he got to come while Brad stayed home. Logan didn’t appreciate it as much as Brad would have, but what can you do. Carson of course loved it! He loves the music and the Disney+ movie so I was soo excited for him to see it live. Nothing beats setting it in person. It’s my 3rd time seeing it and it doesn’t get old.  It was a fun mother son date with all my boys.

Tradition! 🎶
The lead actor was AMAZING! Such great songs. It’s a classic for a reason.

“On Wednesdays we wear pink”
Not as good as the movie, but it was still a fun one.

Last, but not least Hadestown. I was most excited for this one and it did not disappoint! We were supposed to see this one in January but the entire cast got Covid. So we painfully had to wait till the rescheduled date in October. It was worth it. The song with the lights! Chills. My favorite play of the year.
