Dolphin Watch

On our last day in South Padre we went on a dolphin boat tour! I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting much because it seems like when we do these type of things it’s usually a little let down, but we’re actually saw quite a bit! It was awesome! It was pretty fun and a perfect way to end our beach vacation.

The boat put a net out behind the boat to see if they could catch any ocean life and they caught a starfish! They passed  it around the boat for everyone to see and touch. Carson was the only child brave enough to hold it. It was pretty cool!

End of the Road

My beach babes 💙

South Padre is known to have the perfect sand for building sand castles!

"Its the end of the world as we know it"  sorry I can't help but think of that song, because we went to South Padre Island's end of the road!  Literally the road just ends at the end of the island only to be covered in sand.

The kids however loved playing in the sand dunes! And got lost for hours just rolling in the sandy hills.
it really was just beautiful
Until sand got in our eyes...

Brad was hunting for crabs

After we went and grabbed some ice cream!  Mom and Dad got ceviche, it was a win win and great end to the day!

South Padre

After being quarantined for 2 weeks and being sick with covid, it was nice to be able to break free from our house and enjoy our spring break!  We went to South Padre, about 5 hours south of us to enjoy the sun and sandy beaches.

Beautiful sunset on our first night there!

skipping rocks.

Next day we went to the Turtle refuge that was right across the street from our hotel!  It was cool to see all the different turtles.  A lot of the turtles were rescued from the deep freeze the month prior.

This turtle was missing a fin

we had a lot of fun looking and learning about at all the sea turtles!

After the sea turtles we hit the beach!

It was a tad bit chilly, but it was still relaxing and fun!

South Padre has the best sandy beaches for building sand castles, or in our boys cases, for burying each other!  Although the all hated cleaning themselves off in the cold ocean!

Logan

Oh my goodness!  Look at this cute kindergartner!  Isn't he so handsome!

Got his face painted at a birthday party and looked so cool riding around on his scouter with the sunglasses. (This picture was taken in January and I love that he's wearing shorts!  Only in Texas!)
Logan started basketball this year and loves it!  He played on a team with older boys, some even a whole head taller, who knew what they were doing.  But that didn't stop him.  He loved playing and had so much energy.  It was so fun to watch.

He scored a basket on his very first game!!  Have to admit Brad and I were surprised as he never came close to a basket at practice.  He was so proud and asked if we could get a treat to celebrate!

His cute little boy scout Lion's den!

"Eye" Made it 100 days!  Logan was so excited for his 100 days of school celebration!  He was very thoughtful about what he wanted to put on is shirt, and as soon as he saw the googly eyes he was very adamant that that was what he wanted.  He helped count all the pieces and glue all the eyes on.  He was so happy that it made noises when he walked and said all the kids in his class will love it.
Coming home from school he said it was the best day ever!
Logan's first pinewood derby and he got 3rd place in his age group!  He was so excited!

Other Things to Remember:
We got the mail and Logan said how much he wanted to get a letter in the mail, and actually by chance there was an envelope addressed to him so I gave it to him.  When asked what it was I told him it was a doctors bill and that he owed $5.  So he went up to Brad and asked for $5 to pay off his bill! 😆

I have a heart shaped crystal necklace that Brad got me for our anniversary last year.  Logan got the box it was in and knelt down on one knee, opened it and asked me to marry him.  My heart just melted. 💖
