2018 Top Ten

1.  Brad traveled for business to Australia and Indonesia

2.  Emily went to Seattle for a wedding

3.  Carson (9) learned and fell in love with skiing

4.  Tanner (7) earned the prestigious Honor/Noble Knight award at school

5.  Logan (4) follows behind his brothers playing soccer and rock climbing 

6.  Brad went to his 20 year High School reunion 

7.  Brad and Emily saw the Broadway hit Hamilton

8.  Boating at Lake Powell

9.  Went horseback riding through the bluebonnet covered hills in San Antonio

10.  Spent a wonderful week in Disney World!

Little Rock, AR

Over the holiday break we took a road trip to Arkansas to visit Daniel and Kelsie and to meet our newest cousin Camden!!

We only spent a couple days, but we had a wonderful visit.  We hiked up Pinnacle Mountain and made it all the way to the top!

It was a tad chilly, but the hiking warmed us up!

We also tried to go on a tour of Little Rock High, the first desegregated high school, but due to the government shutdown it was closed for tours (its still an active high school but locked for the Christmas break)

Other things we did included, seeing the nature center, had lunch at the Clinton library (wanted to do a tour, but it too was closed from the government shutdown), saw the movie Aquaman, and saw the cities Christmas lights.  I'm realizing a little too late that we didn't get a picture with all of us! It was a fun trip seeing family.  Its nice that they are "close" by, but sad it won't last long as Daniel finishes law school this spring and will move back to Utah.  At least we'll get to see them during our summer vacations out west.

Christmas 2018

Christmas this year was a peaceful one with just us, we loved spending this wonderful time together and basked in the holiday fun.

Traditions:

 Christmas Eve cookie decorating.  Tanner seemed the only one interested this year to help me.

 Santa had to be tricky this year because a certain 9 year old kept waking up to see if Santa had come.  Luckily although it was close he wasn't caught.

 We told the boys this year that they couldn't wake up before 7 am to open presents.  At 6:59 the boys came into our room ready to go.

So side story.  Santa might have blown it this year.  One of Carsons presents was a polaroid camera and that morning Carson opened the film first.  He was so excited to know he was getting a camera.  Well after all the presents had been open, we were missing the camera.  "Mom maybe Santa misplaced it, go look for it"  So low and behold it was in one of my hiding spots, tangled up in the blanket meant to hid it.  I think Carson knows about Santa, but chooses to still believe in the magic, which I'm perfectly happy about.

Logan got a beta fish for Christmas!  He named him Bob (I think because of the Spongebob pineapple fish house)  Tanner hates the name and wants to call him Spiderman because he is blue and red, but Logan has put his foot down.  His name is Bob.

After a day filled with a big yummy breakfast, playing with toys, a nap, we finished out our day by going to see the new Mary Poppins movie.  It was adorable.  I was surprised how much the boys liked it even Logan was  laughing and getting into it. It was a wonderful Christmas day.  Logan asked if we could do Christmas again on Monday.  I wish we could buddy.
