I love Brad and his spontaneousness. With Easter weekend coming up we had a 4 day weekend (good Friday) so Brad surprised us by taking the family to Destin Florida. He wanted to do something fun as a family before Brad and I went on our vacation. It couldn't have been more perfect.
So we celebrated Easter the morning we headed to Florida. The Easter bunny bought new swimsuits and goggles for the boys (the Easter bunny was super lucky since at the time she bought these she did not know they'd be going to the beach).
they were pretty excited to wake up to this!
Destin/Florida beaches are heavenly. As perfect as a beach can get. Blue green water, white sugary sand. Houston got the raw end of the Golf of Mexico Beaches! We enjoyed two beautiful days on 30A (totally making up last years rainy trip we had). 30A is the historical highway that travels through the Florida coastal towns it's beautiful. One of these days we want to rent a beach house for the week! They look amazing!
these two just loved playing in the waves!
It was also perfect kite flying weather
Logan didn't much care for the water. He preferred the sand.
and on Saturday afternoon's day on the beach, we found out our newest cousin had been born! Andrea's little girl named Ava.
these boys sure have my heart!
Logan. This is what he did the entire time. Played with his boat by burying it in the sand, digging it out, and burying it in the sand over and over.
We sure love coming here! Destin holds a special place in Brad and I's heart, for this is where he proposed. One of the best days ever! Now we are taking our family here to make more special memories.
and when in Florida you have to have key lime pie
and play this
and sit in these chairs.
It was a wonderful trip and sure wore us out!
on our drive home, we stopped at the Texas/Louisianna border rest stop, because I've always wanted to get our picture taken next to the Texas star.
It was a wonderful, relaxing, fun, well needed, family bonding time. It was the perfect weekend.
