Rockets Game

It was the Jr. Rockets game and Carson got a free ticket through his basketball league, so Brad took him on a father/son outing to enjoy some basketball.

Brad paid a little extra to get some really good seats!
Carson being silly with one of the door prizes they got.
Carson ran into his friend Mason who was also at the game
Unfortunately the Rockets lost that game, but these two had a great time!  However, on the way back to the car it started pouring rain and they got soaked!  It made for a memorable night.

We couldn't let them have all the fun, so I took the younger two to Chuck-ee-cheese.

They both loved this train ride that went in a circle

but Logan's favorite was this Noah's ark ride that you could push buttons to make different animal sounds
Tanner's favorite was the bowling game
Then after a fun night of playing games we came home and watched a movie.  It was a great night for all of us!

We're going on a gator hunt..

There's a lake by our house.  We walk/bike/run around this lake constantly.  Its 3.5 miles for us to go around it, so its a good exercise.

While at Tanner's parent teacher conference with his preschool teacher she asked me if we'd seen the alligator at the lake yet (we've run into his teacher while going around the lake, she likes to walk her dogs there)  we told her we didn't know there was a gator at the lake!  Apparently he's been there since Christmas, we've been around the lake plenty of times since Christmas so it creeped me out a little knowing that an alligator was living there and I wasn't paying attention.   He lives by the waterfall at the tip of the lake.  Theres a small bridge in that spot that is barely above the water.  Ms Lori said when she gets to that spot she hurries and runs across the bridge so her dogs won't get eaten.

So when we got home from his parent teacher conference, Tanner and I hooped on our bikes and rode to the spot she told us.  And sure enough there he was right by the waterfall like she said.  I swear he was looking right at us and I told Tanner if it moves at all to hop on his bike and ride super fast!  He didn't move one bit, but still kept his eyes on us.  Alligators creep me out and this is the first one that I've seen out in the wild that hasn't been at Brazos Bend or at the zoo.  Plus it was sooo close to home.  Too close for comfort.

Alligators swim up through the bayous, and this one made his home at our Lake.  In our area, they don't remove alligators unless they become aggressive.  We had one alligator chasing joggers in our friends neighborhood!  Its been a week or so since that day, and once again we've been around the lake many of times and haven't seen him since.  I'm wondering if he's either underwater or if they've had him removed.  Either way Tanner and I sure had a fun adventure!  And I'll always be on the lookout from now on!

New Years Bunco

I was in charge of Bunco for the month of January.  We've done a few pajama parties, so I thought it would be fun to do a New Year Glam party and have everyone dress up.  It turned out to be a big hit! It was a nice change of pace for us moms to have a reason to actually get all dressed up!  We had some sparkling cider in champagne flutes and chocolate dipped strawberries as well as some other appetizers. Everyone loved how fancy it was.

Brad had the boys upstairs until it was time for them to go to bed while we played downstairs.  Brad said Tanner kept trying to get a peek at us and would slyly look over the stair railing to see all the moms.  When it was bedtime he ran to his room because he was afraid the other moms would see him.  Funny kid.  It was a great night!
