1st Grade

At meet the teacher night!  Here he is sitting at his new desk.

His teacher Ms. Bartee!  Once again we've lucked out in the teacher department.  Everyone has the best of things to say about her and some have even said she's the best 1st grade teacher!

Here we go!

We were so happy and excited that Carson's friend Jude is in his class again this year!  He also has a few other friends that were on his soccer and/or basketball team.  Its nice to know he'll have some friends in his class.

Walking to the bus stop this year felt as though summer never even happened.  It went by way too quickly!

Here's our bus stop group.  I think we had some new families that moved in over the summer, because there are a lot of new faces.  Although our stop probably has about 2/3 of the group in this picture that regularly come, its still a really large group!

I then followed the bus to see Carson at school because he asked me to.  He was already settled in and busy with an activity page.

Coming home.  Carson forgot how long school days can be!  The first day was the hardest I think for him, but he's easily got back into the school routine.

Here's to another year! I think first grade is going to be a great one!

Last Pics from the Trip

So more fun things we did with the Murpy's.

Grandpa took me and the boys to the good ol' Kaysville theater to see Cinderella.  I thought it was a darling movie.  Tanner fell asleep.

 Before the movie started we took the boys next door to show the boys grandpa's office.

 Went to Marilyn's place in Ogden and had to stop and get Farr's ice cream.

 My extended Murphy family threw a BBQ for me up Springville canyon.  It was nice to visit with my aunts and uncles and to see my cousins.  Before our trip to Utah all Tanner would talk about was wanting to go to the mountains so this was perfect.  We even saw a family of deer run past while at the park.  Carson loved playing with my cousins and Logan loved playing in the dirt.

On our last day in town, uncle Daniel came home from his internship from Ohio and so we did what Carson had been asking the whole trip to do, go to the dinosaur museum.  I don't know why, but Carson is obsessed with this museum and begs to go every year.

We accidentally missed the entrance to the dino museum and instead started driving through Ogden canyon, but it was worth it to see this beautiful waterfall.

 Then that night after the museum my mom cooked us all a wonderful german meal and lit little bon fire to roast marshmallows.

Phew. It was a fun filled packed trip!  Now time to get ready for back to school. Until next time Utah!

A week with the Clarks

Our trip to Utah was one thing after another!  We definitely kept busy and had lots of fun playing with our grandmas/grandpa's, aunts/uncles, and cousins.  Here's our stay with the Clarks:

Went to grandpa's and uncle Ryan's work to ride the forklift and help with production

The Rodeo

My family goes to the Duschene Rodeo almost every year and I was so excited that we were in town for it.  It is a small town fair, but it was so nice because it was not busy at all!  It was perfect.

The boys loved watching the cowboys ride the bulls, and horses.  Carson especially loved when they lassoed the calves, and when the clown showed his bare bottom (it was plastic).

The following day the fair hosted a farmer for the day for the kids.  They were able to pet the animals,

milk a "cow"

dig for potatoes, and hunt for eggs,

ride the tractors,

and pick apples.

After they completed their chores they received a snack, so my boys did this quite a few times.  They loved it!  So glad my kids got to experience this!

Woot Woot this is my 600th post!  Can you believe it?!
