Baseball, Waco, & Football

For Carson's scout troop they were part of the flag ceremony at the local Skeeters game (a minor league baseball team)  It was a fun night out with just the boys!

Carson was able to stand by the baseball team for the National Anthem

Tanner played on all the bounce houses

It was a fun game and even had a Grand Slam! After the game an older gentleman was impressed with how well the boys watched the game and gave them each a baseball in which they were able to take to the field and have the players sign it.  Plus it was fireworks night!  They loved it.

As for me I spent the weekend in Waco with the girls!  We were celebrating our friend Jenni's Anti-versary, her divorce was finalized the same weekend as what would have been her 16th wedding anniversary. So a night on the town was definitely called for.  Good food, good shopping, and great girls.  It was a little get away!

I cut my Waco trip short so I could make it home in time for the Texans game!  Brad won the tickets at work and not just that but he also won vip field access to watch them warm up!
Got to meet the cheerleaders, who by the way said I was cute!
and walk onto the field!

Brad and I aren't really football fans by any means, but I'll admit it was so cool to be their on the field like this!!

Warm up! Unfortunately because it was the first pre-season game of the season the famous Texan player JJ Watt was not there. wah wah
Game time!  It was an awesome game in which they scored a touchdown within the first few minutes!  The game was a close one throughout, but we eventually came out on top!
Love spending time with this guy!

Back to School!

Another year older and wiser!  Here's to another year at school!  This will be Carson's last year in Elementary school, and my momma heart just can't quite handle it.  Hopefully over the course of the year, I'll come to grips with reality that my baby will be in middle school, but until then my heart will gently weep and I'll savor every minute of 5th grade.
and look at that smile you'd never know that just the day before was so traumatic.
Onto 2nd grade!  I don't know why in my head I still keep thinking that he should either be back in 1st or be in 3rd grade.  Not sure why I'm skipping 2nd, but nonetheless thats were we're at!

Looking so grown up!
It's also their last year at school together until high school!!
Have a good day boys!
Back to school night to meet his teacher Ms. Hoevelman!  Forget to get one with Carson's.
Also his teacher sent me this pic on the first day.

Staples and broken teeth

After coming back home to Texas from our trip to Utah, we only had 2 days before school started and as I'm sure you can imagine those two days were full of things we needed to get ready for before school started.  On our last official day of summer, we went to our brand new dentist for a regular cleaning.  Our previous dentist stopped taking our insurance and so we've been on the lookout for a new one.  6 months ago we tried a new dentist that I was NOT impressed with at all so we were crossing our fingers that this one would be better, and she was!  Loved her and the office staff and glad we finally had a great pediatric dentist again.

After teeth it was haircuts for the boys!  Don't they look so handsome?
After all those errands I was feeling guilty that this was how the boys were spending there last day of freedom before school started so I thought we'd go to the new trampoline park that the boys love.  After an hour being there I hear over the announcement "Will Emily Clark please come to the concession stand" and if you ever been to a trampoline park you know how easy it is for the kids to just jump away, so I thought that they just couldn't find me.  Well once I get there I'm greeted with Logan covered in blood.  As in blood is literally dripping down his face and Carson crying in hysterics.  Nothing makes your momma heart stop then seeing your kids like that.

A fellow mom was holding a cloth on top of Logan's head and explaining to me that she is a nurse and that head wounds bleed a lot and that they always look more worse than they really are, but that he'll most likely need stitches.  I then go over to Carson to try to calm him down, only to notice that he's missing half of his tooth, and not just any tooth, his front permanent tooth.

Everyone was giving so much attention to Logan because it really did look horrible, but right then I knew Carson's issue was much worse.  I mean you can't just grow back a new tooth and after dealing with Brad and his teeth issues, I know that this is going to be a lifelong issue for Carson.  Plus cosmetically it just looks bad too!  So after we got everything sorted out as much as we could and stopped the bleeding for Logan, I called Brad and told him what had happened and that he needed to come here quick.  Luckily he was on his way home from work and only 5 minutes away.  I gave Brad the choice between doctor with Logan or dentist with Carson and he picked doctor.  Thank heavens cuz I'd rather go to the dentist (Brads just the opposite and hates the dentist)!  So we divided and conquered!

The poor kiddos.
I am so glad that just that morning we had gone to a new dentist who we liked and felt comfortable with.  I called her office and they told us to get there right away.  They saw us immediately even though it was right during their closing time, and made Carson feel comfortable.  I just felt so bad too, because Carson has been the one with perfect teeth.  No cavities ever and now this.  Due to the trauma of the tooth they could only do a "band aid" fix.  The tooth and gums need time to heal before they could cosmetically fix that.  They cleaned his tooth and just put a filling over it.  It remained that way for a month.  So during that month it looked like Carson was just growing in his tooth.  It didn't look that horrible.  But it was awkward for him to eat with his tooth like that. Luckily Carson got his new tooth the day before picture day!  Hallelujah!
Brad at the children's insta care with Logan.  He said the staff was so good with him.  Gave him snacks, blew bubbles, and Logan was so brave and didn't even cry!  Got two staples to the head.  Luckily haircuts were that morning so again perfect timing.

all the drama wore this kid out!
So after all was said and done, I finally got the story from Carson as to what happened. The boys were playing tag and Logan was it, and while trying to tag Carson they collied.  Carson's mouth directly into Logan's head.  Now that was one way to end summer with a bang!

Tim & MaryKate

And the main event for our trip to Utah this summer was to see my baby brother get married!!  I feel like its the end of an era for our family (my Murphy family).  With the baby of the family all married, we are officially old.  Tim met MaryKate while up at Utah State and its been so fun getting to know her this past year.  She and Tim make a great team and we were so happy to celebrate this wonderful day with them.
