Brisbane & Auckland

Brad had a 2 week business trip to Australia! This is his third business trip to Australia and since he had a layover in New Zealand he decided to take a few days to explore since he’s never been. It was a perfect time of year to go. January is summer time and so enjoyed lots of hiking and of  course biking.

Perth Australia

We were so saddened to see the horrible damage due to the recent wildfires in Australia.  As Brad and I recently went there in June, and Brad again for this business trip.  Our hearts are with Australia!

So Brad has been all over Australia now!  This is his 3rd visit and he's never gone to the same place twice (Brisbane/Gladstone/Darwin, Sydney/Cairns, Perth)! This time his business brought him to Perth. However just 2 days before he left on his trip, Brad found out that his company sold their Perth operations 😔 it was too late to cancel the trip, and besides it wouldn't be a total waste of his time since other ConocoPhillips people in Australia and Indonesia were coming to his training.

Beautiful, but not much sightseeing to do.  Its a smaller city.

Brad just enjoyed the beautiful fall in China just a few days before and now he gets to enjoy the lovely springtime in Australia!  So crazy! Also he's fairly certain he's allergic to this tree that was blooming throughout the city!

Brad did make it to the Botanical Gardens

 such a cool tree!

On Brad's last day he went on a bike ride on Rottenest Island.  Home of the quokkas!

 This is a quokkas:
kind of looks like a large rodent, but they are in fact super cute and friendly.
I mean look at that cute smile!  They like taking selfies, and they really do look like they are smiling!

 just rooming around the restaurant.
 Goodbye Australia!  Till next time!
