2023-2024 Broadway Season

That’s a wrap on this season’s Broadway shows! 🎭✨

We saw an incredible lineup:

🎀 MJ

πŸ”₯ Tina: The Tina Turner Musical

πŸ‡«πŸ‡· Les MisΓ©rables

πŸ‘» Beetlejuice

🎸 Girl from the North Country

πŸ’„ Hairspray

🌟 Funny Girl

Hands down, Les MisΓ©rables stole the show with its powerful story and unforgettable music. But the energy and hits from MJ and Tina had the whole audience buzzing—such fun performances!

Girl from the North Country… well, it was a bit of a head-scratcher. Beautiful music, but the story left us confused and a little bored. It was my least favorite this season.

Funny Girl wasn’t too funny to Tanner who was my date because he slept through the whole thing. But to be fair he has been waking up early for early morning football practice. I for one really liked the music and especially thought the main actress killed it.

Already looking forward to next season—bring on more Broadway magic! 🎟️✨

First Day of School

First Day of School! πŸ“š✏️🍎

And just like that, we’re starting another school year with the three boys still at three different schools—high school, middle school, and elementary. It’s a whole bunch of organized chaos around here!

Meet the teacher!
Ms. Barton

And Mrs. Hartings

Carson is officially a sophomore! He’s jumping back into orchestra and taking 2 AP (college courses) classes this year. It’s going to be a busy one!

Logan, our elementary guy, is holding down the fort at the school where it all began. He’s not too happy that he has to go back to school.

Tanner is in 7th grade and on the jr high football team! He’s already been waking up early the past couple weeks for early morning football practice (you have to in this summer heat) and he’s also continuing with orchestra as well! But I think he’s most excited to be back with all his friends!

As for me, I’m excited to have a week to myself before I start back up!

Here’s to a great school year for the boys! πŸ’™πŸŽ’πŸŽ»

End of Summer shenanigans

Squeezing out the last drops of summer before the school year starts — and that includes a little fun and the not-so-fun stuff! ☀️Between popsicles and pool time, we’re also fitting in those dentist and doctor visits to get everyone ready for the new year. Making the most of these final carefree days while checking off the to-do list!

Kicking off concert season—1st of 5 concerts this fall! Living out my high school dreams with Yellowcard and Third Eye Blind!

But dang outdoor concerts in August in Houston is HOT!

Carson is starting to drive!! On our way home from Utah, he took the wheel for a short stretch through the Indian reservation and did a great job. The younger two in the back thought they were going to die though…

It’s now Tanners turn for braces!

Tanner wrapped up his summer with some fun at his 7th grade back-to-school dance!

And we couldn’t let the summer go by without going to an Astros game! Especially on Barbie night!

Ugh I hate to see summer end. I’m not ready!

Theodore Roosevelt National Park

At the end of July, while the kids and I were wrapping up our trip in Utah, Brad was away on a business trip to the Badlands of North Dakota. He managed to carve out some time to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and from the photos, it looks absolutely breathtaking! I don’t know all the details, but the scenery speaks for itself.
