March update

March is always a busy month, with Carson's birthday starting us off, to his trip to Disney, our ski trip to Durango, orchestra performances, a race, and then my birthday to close out the month. March always keeps us on our toes and just flies by.  Here's the rest of the happenings from this time:

My brother Tim came to town for spring break, and we were lucky to spend some time with him! He was here to visit an old childhood friend but made sure to carve out an evening for us. We took him to one of our favorite restaurants, enjoyed a great meal, and had the best time catching up. So grateful for the chance to see him!

Medieval Concert for Jr Orchestra!

Another year for the Moo-lenial moms! This year we went back to our 10k this year after doing a half last year.  Its always fun to run with your friends.

and eat the ice cream
Logan got a participation trophy at Taekwondo for attending over 50 times!  He was excited to add another trophy to his collection!
Tanner's scout campout at the beach!

And a spring bike ride date with Brad!  Riding around George Bush Park!  Its about 25 miles long.  Every time we do this ride I always hate the first half because its against the wind on gravel and just miserable.  The second half however is paved and gorgeous.

Found a little friend...

Here’s to 39! All dressed up and ready to celebrate!

Ski Durango

I know, I know. Another ski post. The third one. I’m sorry! But I have to post about our family ski trip! Our yearly ski trip to Durango, Colorado over spring break, has become a favorite family tradition.  It’s a trip we look forward to every spring break. The boys love it and even though we hate the drive, we love the town and the stunning mountain setting that keeps us coming back every year.

This year our hotel had the Oscar Meyer weinermobile!

All bundled up and ready to hit the slopes!

It snowed pretty heavily almost the whole ski trip, the night before it dumped a whole bunch of new snow which made for some really fresh powder our first day. We aren’t used to skiing in such heavy powder (except Brad) it’s quite the work out and made us a little more cautious out on the slopes. I think I like my skiing a little more groomed.

Love skiing with these guys

Last year this guy (Logan) was a speed demon going down, but the powder slowed him down and he started really working on his turns.

So much fun skiing with this guy

Dad taking these two out on some harder runs

These two started going on some black diamonds for their first time! They loved doing the moguls.

💙🤍🩵❄️

Of course the sun decides to come out on the afternoon of our last day

As always such stunning views!
Waiting for the others to come back from their last run of the day/trip!

Till next time Durango!

School Trip

Carson had an absolutely incredible trip to Walt Disney World with his high school orchestra! Every 4 years the different school groups in his high school get to go on a group vacation over spring break. Band went the year before to Hawaii, and this year it was orchestra’s turn!

His orchestra teacher loves going to Disney because they get to participate in a special Disney music clinic, where they go behind the scenes to see how Disney Magic in the form of music is created. They then get the special opportunity to be taught by a Disney conductor pieces of Disney music. His group had the amazing opportunity to play music from Tarzan and The Little Mermaid. The best part? Their performance was professionally recorded and set to a Disney music video! It was the best souvenir Carson could have gotten. It was such a surreal experience to hear their own music paired with iconic scenes! I wish I could post the video here, but it’s about 6 minutes long and too long to post here.

Beyond the clinic, Carson made the most of his time in the parks, soaking in all the magic with his friends. From thrilling rides to iconic attractions, every day was packed with fun. He especially loved visiting Universal Studios, where he couldn’t get enough of the new Raptor ride. It was definitely a favorite! Of course, no trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be complete without a Butterbeer, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

The entire trip was an unforgettable he said it was his most favorite vacation ever. I asked him about his Europe trip just last summer, but he liked this more because he was with his friends.

From performing Disney classics to making lifelong memories with his friends, Carson had the time of his life!

Getting ready to leave!

Some lucky/unlucky dad had the joy of having to drive to Orlando with a trailer full of everyone's instruments!
