Wedding Planning

Since my sister Marilyn got engaged I have been trying to give her ideas for the wedding and while looking at different wedding ideas I keep thinking how fun it would be to plan my own wedding again. Don't get me wrong I loved my wedding but in the past 5 years styles have changed and I love the new trends for weddings. Plus I actually know people now like photographers and other venders. It would be so fun to plan another wedding.

The Wedding Dress: With the new temple guidelines on not wearing wedding dresses in the temple, a lot of brides are adding color to their dress. Some do an off white or cream while others have a splash of color. Personally, I love the colorful sash around the waist.

Shoes: I LOVE the new trend to wear colorful high heals, just love it!

Wedding colors:

Cakes: Look how creative and fun you can be!

Flowers: I loved my flowers and would get them all over again.
Although if I got married in the spring time and not the fall maybe I would go for a tulip bouquet:

Aww the possibilities...

Valentines Day

No this isn't some lovey, dovey post on how Brad and I love each other. Brad and I were lucky enough to have family come down to visit! My father-in law and his siblings had a mini family reunion in Mesa. The siblings haven't all been together since their father passed away about 8 years ago so it was a real treat to see them altogether. My in-laws came on Thursday night, but Brad and I joined them on Valentines Day.
It was my father-in laws birthday on the 13th so we were able to celebrate! Brent showed Carson how to blow out the candles. Hopefully Carson caught on because its his turn next in just a couple of weeks!
My uncle Matt wanted to see more pictures of Brad and I so here is a family picture.
After dinner and the birthday celebration we sat down and watched slide shows of Brent's family growing up. Everyone was just laughing and loving the reminisces. It was so fun to watch and hear stories from their childhood. What a legacy Brads grandparents left! I hope Brad and I can follow in their footsteps.

The following day (Monday the 15th) we drove back home with Emily (my 10 year old sister in law) while my father and mother in law celebrated their anniversary (February is a busy month in the Clark family) in Las Vegas. We had so much fun! We went to the park, sat in the hot tub, watched the Olympic ice skating, introduced her to gelato where she got to sample spicy chocolate (which is extremely spicy!), and took her on her very first trip to the zoo.
The Tucson Zoo is the perfect zoo! They have every major animal, but its small so you can make a quick loop around and be done. Perfect!
The best part of the whole zoo! We got to feed the giraffe's! They have long black tongues and it was almost like watching a frog catch a fly, as soon as I put the food on its tongue it would snap the food right back in its mouth. I loved it!

Some more cute pictures from the zoo:

Showing off their tats:

Carson didn't know what to think of the giraffes
It was so sad to see Emily leave this morning she was only here a day and a half and it went by way to fast! Its so nice to have someone else here to play with Carson. Hopefully she can come down again in the summer we loved having her!

Carsonese

Carson has his own language now which Brad and I affectionately call "Carsonese". We have no idea what he is saying but he talks to us like he is having a regular conversation. Its pretty cute, but it was extremely hard to capture him talking on film because as soon as the camera comes out he wants to play with it and when I won't let him....Major Tears.

He is just so darn cute.

11 Months

weight: 18.6 (5th percentile)
Carson is a pro at cruising. He can walk along furniture and walls and any other object that he can hold onto, but will not try to venture out on his own. I know he can do it, he just gets scared. You can almost see the wheels in his head turning trying to contemplate if he should let go and take a step on his own, but then he just plops down and crawls. I know it won't be too much longer before he gets the confidence to take the first steps, and then I'll really have my hands full.

The past couple of weeks we have been giving Carson new foods and its fun to see what he likes/dislikes. So far he does not like bananas (which is sad because its an easy food to give to him) and scrambled eggs. He LOVES french fries, the Olive Gardens breadsticks and Fettucine Alfredo (but who doesn't love the Olive Garden?), and cheese.

Carson has a total of six teeth: four on top and two on the bottom.

Carson at baby story time

Where has time gone? When I was younger I always wanted to be one step ahead in life ex: when I was in jr. high I wanted to be in high school. When I was in high school I wanted to be in college. I feel like I'm finally at a stage in life where time can stop. I don't want Carson to get any bigger I'm loving the stage he is in. Its just hard to believing that in one more month Carson is going to turn one! I think I might cry! My baby is now a toddler!
