Last day of school!

Schools out for summer! ☀️ Phew what a different school year it has been!  It started off with 3 weeks of online school, which was a lot better then the spring, but still doesn’t even compare to the learning of physically being there. I am so thankful that the boys were able to go back face to face relatively early in the school year where I know alot of the country wasn’t. Once they were back, the learning was so much easier and there was less frustrations.

As a parent this year it was hard to not to be able to go to the school to volunteer or to occasionally have lunch with my boys. It was sad that all the fun PTA after school activities were canceled. For the boys it was no fun wearing a mask all day and having to have a scheduled rotation of which side of the playground you could play at, but we were so blessed with amazing teachers who went above and beyond this whole year for their students to make it as easy and enjoyable for them. Seriously bless all the teachers this year!!!

After school I surprised the bus at the bus stop with popsicles and a bucket of water balloons! They had a blast.

Then we went with our neighbors to get some Italian ice!

And here’s my last day picture with my class! Seriously had the cutest class this year and I’m so going to miss them! At least I’ll be able to see them next year as they’ll just be in the class across the hall so I can still give them hugs.

This little guy was sick the last day so I met up with him to get a goodbye hug (he was a favorite 😉)

Now we can officially start summer!!

 

Rodeo with cousins!

We had another wonderful visit with our cousins!  Ryan and Sasha and family came back to Texas, this time to Dallas and as always when we get together we had lots of fun!

We went to the FortWorth Stockyards for a traditional texas feel.  But first we had to get some good ol' BBQ!

I must say it was nice to be back in an arena type setting with no masks on (we're vaccinated its ok), it finally felt like we were really getting back to normal.

and since it was Stetson's first birthday(!) we finished off the night with some milkshakes.

Even though this cuties shirt was dirty, she wouldn’t take it off because she wanted to match her aunt Emily💗 the sweetest!!

it was a quick visit, but always worth it to get this cousins (and adults) together!

 

All about Carson

May is such a busy month!  All the end of year things going on with all the boys keeps us on our toes!  Here's what's going on with Carson. 

Carson was awarded by his English teacher (the one who wrote that sweet email earlier this year, you can read it here) with an award for his academic achievement and outstanding behavior in the classroom throughout the year.  This was a HUGE deal!  Each 6th grade teacher got to chose one student and since his English teacher has roughly 100 students it just goes to show what an impact Carson had on her.  Going into Jr. High was such a big transition and learning curve especially in the age of covid, and he handled it so well!  He really became disciplined in his studies and to watch him get this award was such a proud moment!

Carson was in Showtime theater's production of the Lion King!  This play was supposed to happen last spring, but covid.  Then it got pushed to fall and coming full circle, back to spring a full year later.  It was fun to watch these kids and the costumes were adorable.  Carson was a jack of all trades in this.  He played a wildebeest (he's in the middle):

it was an adorable play!  The cast was amazing even if they had to wear masks!

Carson also said he wanted to take the cello more seriously and wanted to start private lessons, so here we go!  We are super impressed by his accomplished teacher!  I think this will be good!
