Easter Weekend!! We had an adorable little Easter Egg hunt with our little playgroup
He's just too cute!
It was a fun morning!!
I had a fabulous birthday! Brad spoiled me like no other, and gave me a substantial amount of cash to go on a shopping spree. That night we went shopping, out to dinner, and then when I came home my girlfriends came and kidnapped me and forced me to watch Twilight since I prided myself on never reading the books or watching the movie, and they said I had to experience the awfulness for myself.
They did give me this shirt to make up for it.
They also decorated my yard with pictures of Edward and Jacob. I have awesome friends.
We had our traditional Easter egg hunt with our neighbors.
and this is the only picture we got on Easter.

To say our Easter was ruined would be an understatement. Here's how it went down. The night before after we got home from dinner, we were on the phone with Grandma Clark who called to wish me a happy birthday. After we got off the phone we shut the garage door and then my friends came and kidnapped me. This was a 30 min. window that our garage door was open. After we did the traditional Easter egg basket and hunt with the kids, Brad went to go get his sunglasses in the car, and noticed that someone had broken into both our vehicles. I immediately broke down, because I knew that last night I had left my purse in the car. Yes, yes I know its horrible, to leave a purse in your car, but its always in our garage with the door shut. I've never worried about it, but the caught me during that short window of time (and super early too it was only 8:30 at night and we live right across the street from a park so they really had some balls to be stealing at that time and in a busy area)
I'll admit I was a little bit of a wreck. I never ever have cash on me, but sheesh the one time. The one time I have a huge amount of case on me it got stolen.
I got on FB and noticed that a few other neighbors got victimized as well. They also posted this article that was written by the Fulsher Police Department in regards to the crime. Its hilarious and I immediately felt better knowing that the officers caught the guys, but still worried about our property.
In case you were wondering what the commotion was late last night into early this morning in Cross Creek Ranch, it wasn’t the Easter Bunny.
A group of crooks decided to break into several cars just east of Cross Creek Ranch in Cinco Ranch. Once they finished their crime spree in Cinco, they thought Fulshear would be their next target. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office broadcasted a description of the suspects and what type of vehicle they were driving.
The suspects were soon spotted by one of YOUR night shift officers (Alonso) patrolling the neighborhood. Officer Alonso, and other responding units were able to pull over the suspects near Cross Creek Bend Blvd and Blanco Ridge. The suspected crooks had a car load of recently stolen items. After questioning, the driver bolted on foot in an attempt to flee. Officer Alonso was in close pursuit and was within arms reach when Officer Alonso, while running at a full sprint, tripped on a curb, and completed two full somersaults. Unfortunately, he did not “stick the landing.” The back of Officer Alonso’s head took the full impact of the landing, which pardon the pun, sounded like a hard boiled Easter egg hitting the floor.
The suspect then jumped into a nearby lake and began the “swim portion” of his event. Officers used their spotlights to illuminate the swimming suspect and directed other officers to the predicted “finish line.” The suspect finished the swim portion and was quickly greeted by law enforcement officials to receive his medal, “medal” being a pair of “metal” silver handcuffs.
During the post game interview the suspect responded “I figured I was going to jail anyway, so I wanted it to be a good story.”
Well here is how your story ends sir. You will be charged with several felonies including Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer as Officer Alonso was injured during your failed escape attempt. The good news is that Officer Alonso is predicted to make a full recovery and promised to work on his landing in time for the next Summer Olympics.
This was a successful joint effort from your Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and YOUR Fulshear Police Department working together to keep you and your property safe while you sleep at night.
Have a safe and Happy Easter.
We obviously called the cops to report our stolen property. The kids thought it was so cool to have a cop car come to our house. And that was our Easter.
The next day I went with my neighbor who also had her things stolen to the police station (she also has a video of the suspects breaking into both our property). Because in both our cases they broke into our homes (the garage) vs a car outside, the cops were happy to charge the idiots with home invasion. They also get to charge them with fleeing the scene and assault on an officer, since an officer was hurt while in pursuit. They told us the criminals were two 18 year olds out joy riding looking for some drug money. They'll be in jail for quite sometime.
Logan loved going to the police station with us. He loves "wee wees" ie: any emergency vehicle
I was able to get my purse back as well as Brad and I's sunglasses, but my money and credit cards were all gone. I keep telling myself that its just money, but when you're victimized you feel unsafe and vulnerable, knowing that the whole family was just in our living a few feet away from our garage when this happened, is deeply upsetting. Knowing that they were caught definitely brings some comfort and security.
While at the boys tennis lessons the following week we happened to run into two of the cops that helped with the arrest. They told me that when they found my purse they asked the criminals who Emily Clark was and they said "my girlfriend, no my aunt" . I told them to wish the officer who was hurt a speedy recovery and I thanked them for all that they do in keeping our community safe. So glad I was able to thank them in person.
