We had a rare and magical treat—a real snow day! Not just the usual ice storms that constitute as a snow day here in Texas, but actual fluffy, beautiful snow! I’ve noticed it seems to snow always the winter after a hurricane, like it did after Harvey, and now again after Beryl. I wonder if there’s a correlation?
The excitement started the night before with Logan glued to the windows, waiting to catch that first flurry. When we woke up, the world had transformed into a winter wonderland! So thankful we have our winter gear from our ski trips, it came in handy as we rushed outside to soak it all in.
Logan just had a blast playing with his friends in the snow!
Love the sea shells as his eyes and nose!
Tanner and I took a peaceful walk around the lake, and it was breathtaking under a fresh blanket of snow. We passed families laughing and sliding down hills on anything they could find—pool inflatables, laundry baskets, storage bins, cookie sheets, even beach boogie boards. It was hilarious and so fun to watch.
Brad started walking with us, but didn't make it too far as he didn't dress warm enough.

Look how beautiful our neighborhood is in the snow!
Not to be left out, I joined Carson and his friends for some makeshift sledding. The boogie boards were a not the best as it got too much traction, but it’s the best we had. Someone did let me borrow a plastic laundry basket to go down a couple times in, and I went flying down the hill. I felt like a little kid again, laughing the whole way.
Saw a hawk watching us as we were sledding!
They were so proud of their snowman!
It was such a fun, joy-filled, memorable day. Just wish the snow could’ve stuck around longer than half a day, but I guess that’s what makes it feel even more special. ⛄️
