Beach Day!

I try to at least do one beach day with the kids over the summer. Squeezed it in between all the Carson’s Europe trip and Tanners scout camp and before we left for Utah. Logan was still a little hesitant to get in the water after last’s summer shark encounter 🦈so he mostly stuck to the beach.  (last year the man next to us was fishing and  caught a small blacktip shark, pretty cool but none of us went back into the water after that).

Tradition to get a cold treat on the beach! Gotta eat them fast though, the melt quick in the Texas heat!

Carson missed a lot of spots with his sun screen and got some splotchy sunburns. His feet got the worst and looked like he had lobster feet!

Fun summer days! Love these boys!

Beach Day

The day before we left for Utah we took a quick trip to the beach! We hasn’t yet been this summer and Brad worked from home that day and needed us out of the house. Win win! Carson already had plans with friends so it was just me and the two younger ones. It was slightly overcast and the beach didn’t have too many people there.  It was a perfect beach day!

The boys always want ice cream from the ice cream truck on the beach. I’ll admit ice cream on the beach is pretty nice.

The boys went crab hunting with a boy they found on the beach. They caught about 5 crabs!

Also the highlight of the trip was when the guy in the group next to us caught a shark. Yep a shark 🦈. Non of us went into the water after that…(the shark was released back into the waters)

Now to get ready for Utah!

Thanksgiving Break: Beach Day

We were so excited this year to have Rich and Kami’s family come into town for Thanksgiving! It’s the first time they’ve been to Texas and we couldn’t wait to have some fun with them!

First things first, while the others went to run errands, I took these boys to the park and for donuts

Came home to gingerbread decorating! Logan was in heaven!

These two loved playing on the trampoline!

Mason loves fish, so we took them to our furniture store that has a giant aquarium complete with sharks and stingrays. Cool for a furniture store right?

That night was date night! Took them to our favorite classic Texas restaurant Anthony’s. It was so nice to get away from the kids and have some alone adult time. Plus the banana foster bread pudding was amazing!

Next day was beach day! Enjoyed a nice relaxing time at the beach! Hardly anyone was there and we felt like we had the place to ourselves! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect too, warm and partly cloudy. The kids were even brave enough to get in the water to do some boogie boarding!

Lots of digging and burying each other was had!

So much fun to be had it was a perfect day. Love these guys! 

 

Beach Bums

We went to the beach every weekend while Brad was gone.  We were loving it.  On one of our trips we went with some friends and they taught the boys how to surf!  The boys loved it and he said they were naturals!  Both boys got up on their first try!  Now they want surf boards.  We settled and I got them boogie boards.

Phew and thats a wrap on our summer!
