Baseball

We've never done baseball.  Carson and Tanner never seemed interested and to be honest, I wasn't either.  But Logan this year said he really wanted to play so here we were.

They may have lost every game this season, but Logan sure did start to love the game of Baseball!

For someone who has never played before on a team who most kids have been playing since they were 3.  And who due to his birthday was on a team of 1st graders despite being in kinder.  He sure did try his hardest!  It was fun to watch him grow as a player.

Halfway through the season he hit his first ball.  And since he's never hit the ball before, he was unsure what to do.  It was classic.  Hopefully you can watch the video, if not here's the synopsis.  Logan hits the ball, everyone is telling him to run.  Logan just stands there as the pitcher tries to get the guy out who is running towards home plate.  Everyone keeps telling Logan to run, which he finally does, but he drags his baseball bat with him.  Pitcher gets the guy out running home, then starts after Logan who he also gets out.

Logan now says he likes baseball more that basketball, but still loves them both.  So hopefully next year we'll just keep getting better and better!

Scouts

Day trip to the Windy City

A day trip to the Windy City! We literally got an early morning flight there and a late night flight back all in a day! It was nice not having to park a suitcase! With ticket prices just $25 one way we thought why not? It was totally an awesome girls day out.

Being April in Chicago you never know what you’ll get weather wise. We unfortunately got a freezing day! It was still fun though! We got to stop and eat at all our favorite spots and do all the touristy things.  For half of the group it was their first time to Chicago so we did all the same things I did 4 years ago when I went to Chicago for Hamilton. But to be fair it’s the things you have to do and see when in Chicago plus I didn’t mind it’s fun anyway!

 First stop the Bean! Blocked off due to covid (not sure why since it was outdoors, but whatever), so it wasn’t as cool to see, but still fun.

And a must do; eat at Wildberry Pancakes. The best place ever!

Next up, Architecture Boat tour!

Then off to the Willis Tower where they have an interactive museum before you go up to the top. This was new since I was there and it really added to the experience!

So I must admit; I love heights. And it was a gorgeous view at the top.

And the day wouldn’t be complete without having a Chicago dog, and a chocolate cake milkshake.

A lot of girls trips/activities for me lately, but after a year of  Covid I think all us moms were in need of some fun!

Moo-llenial Moms

Blue bell fun run!! When part of our Bunco group wanted to run the Bluebell fun run I immediately signed up! The last time I ran the Bluebell race was 5 years ago to celebrate my year anniversary of being diagnosed with cancer, so this race is special to me.  Plus you get free ice cream. Win win!

Our team name was Moo-llenial Moms a pun after Bluebells famous Moo-llennium Crunch ice cream. 

We even had our names on the back!

When we got our ice cream the teenage girl scooping our ice cream wanted to get a picture of us for their website because they liked our team name/outfits. She then said “I hope my friends will do this with me when we’re old” She did crush our hearts, but yes I do have the most coolest friends who are always up for some fun.

After ice cream, we then drove out of the way to college station to get burritos. They recently built a Costa Vida and we all had to get our fix. College station is a hour away from Katy, but worth the drive. If you know, you know.

Our team ended up winning 3rd overall. We had 2 girls get 1st place in their age division and 1 who got 2nd. We were on fire! So fun and will now be a yearly tradition!
