Butterflies

More of our butterflies hatched!  In fact we had 5 in one day!  Right after they hatch they take about an hour to let their wings dry before they can fly off.  This is the time period in which you can play with them and we sure had fun letting them walk all over us!

Logan was a little hesitant at first to hold them. I mean he loved the caterpillars but was unsure about the butterflies.  It didn't take him long though to warm up.

After all these weeks of watching them grow and then form their chrysalis, it was sure fun to have some time with them to admire their beauty before they flew away.

Muffins with Mom

It was supposed to be muffins with mom at Logan's preschool.  One of my most favorite preschool traditions.  I was so sad to be missing it, so instead Logan and I had our own date.  We went and grabbed Logan's favorite donuts, and took them to the park.  We played tag and he played in the water.  He asked if everyday could be a muffins with mom day.  It was a perfect.

In other Logan news here he is being a model/guinea pig for the face masks I made.  He's rocking the quarantine face mask!
Logan wanted to get in the sewing action so I let him follow the mask pattern to cut some fabric.
Logan didn't want to eat his rice with the chicken that I had made so instead he got out the peanut butter and dipped his rice in that.  Crazy kid
One day after Brad got the mail, Logan was sad that he didn't get a letter, when I told him that he actually did, so I gave him his "letter" and when he asked what it said I told him that it was a doctor's bill for $5.  "What? They want my money?!" Yep sorry kid.  Logan then went upstairs with his bill and asked Carson if he could borrow $5 for his doctors bill.  I just laughed and told Logan not to worry about it, that I already paid it.

And in more cute Loganness one morning he found the heart shaped necklace Brad gave me as an anniversary present and he got down on one knee held the necklace up and asked me to marry him! 💗 Now if that doesn't melt your heart then nothing will. Sure love my big little boy!

Porch Pictures

I had a friend post a porch picture of her family during quarantine as a way to remember this time by and thought it was so smart.  So I asked my photographer friend if she wouldn't mind taking some for us.

We also posed with some of the things that we've been doing a lot during quarantine.  Brad's been biking, Carson on the Nintendo, Tanner rollerblading, Logan on the ipad, and myself I've been reading and running/yoga.  Of course we've been doing lots of other stuff too to pass the time, but there's only so much you can add in the photo.

It sure was a fun way to remember this unique time together!

Quarantine #2

Saw this and felt it was appropriate:

It's been a full month in quarantine and not all is sunshine and roses.  Some days we just don't want to do online school anymore and wish we could go back to regular school.  I think we've all had our good and bad days during this.  We all know that this isn't forever, and I'm trying to remind myself that it's ok to have bad days and to be more gentle with myself and my kids when we do.

although some days are hard we've been trying our best
and little by little started to play with friends again which has helped with the boredom

Picnic at the park, frisbee, and whiffle ball:

We've had such a beautiful spring!  And we are so thankful!! If we couldn't at least go outside I think we'd go crazy!
Emily did an online zoom bunco:
and a girls night/birthday in our friends garage.

I also found out that our preschool decided to not return to school even if the elementary kids do.  So us teachers made our kiddos this:

and we continued with our zoom meetings:

and snuck away with my fellow teaching assistant Kellie to get some much needed girl talk.  Although our bottoms were rather sore after a couple hours!

Quarantine Life is getting old and we're getting creative on how to live during it!

Birthday and Easter

Birthdays and Holidays are a little different in quarantine, a little more quiet, but I for one loved all the family time, cuz that's what matters.

My birthday did feel special I had friends dropping off treats and presents all day.  Plus after a couple weeks in quarantine it felt nice to do my hair and makeup!
cutest little photo bomber!

It's fun having Easter and my birthday so close together.

Decorating Easter Eggs! With quarantine I didn't have a chance to buy an Easter Egg dying kit, but thank heavens for pinterest which gave us a tye dying technique using paper towels, markers, and a spray bottle.  Super easy, plus it looked super cool.  Of course I didn't get a picture of the final product. Dang.

Easter morning!  The boys got lots of yummy treats.  A bike helmet for Tanner and Logan and Rollerblades for Carson.
Tanner found the golden egg!  He was so excited!
checking the loot!
Such a sweet boy!
The rollerblades were such a big hit which unfortunately caused a lot of fighting over who got to wear them on Easter (even though the really were Carsons).  We ended up having to get Tanner his own pair too.

and it was such a beautiful evening that we got some Easter selfies:
Sure do love this group!
