Seattle: Day 2

After leaving our airbnb we went to a nearby park for a look at the city.  We had some time to catch before we met up with my dad and Tim.

The gang's all here!
Now we had to do basically everything we did yesterday, all over again.  Starting with Pike's

Okay so remember my last post when I said I didn't like claim chowder?  Well after trying a bite of my mom's it was soooo good!  Not fishy at all like others.  So I had to get my own with Tim and Dad while the others went and got Beecher's.
 enjoying our lunch

After getting settled in our new airbnb with the Hawkins we took a stroll to see the troll under Fremont bridge.

Came across this piece of the Berlin Wall on our walk
When traveling with Marilyn you get good pics!
sweet one of my parents 💛

okay, okay, so I had Hamilton on my brain since Brad and I were going to go see it the day after I got back... sing it with me ♪♫♬ "I'm looking for a mind at..."
Stopped at the Gas Works Park and old industrial plant that they turned into a park.  It was beautiful.

Topped the day off with some Indian food for dinner and a sketchy 7/11 for ice cream sandwiches (they didn't have slurpees! 😥).  Lots of walking, gorgeous scenery and yummy yummy food.

Seattle: Day 1

My cousin Tiffany was getting married!  She is the only cousin on my mom's side thats close to my age so I just had to go.  Brad took some time off to stay home and watch the kids and I got to enjoy a weekend away with my family.

Marilyn, Aaron, and my mom and I, arrived a day before the others in our family so we got a day by ourselves to explore the city.  I was the only one in my family who hasn't been to Seattle so I made them do all the typical Seattle touristy things so I could experience it for myself.
While walking to the train station we "ran" into a guy (he had a little crush on Marilyn) who told us that on the first Thursday of every month all the museums are free to the public, lucky us!  So instead of heading straight to Pike's Market, we took a detour and went to the Seattle Art Museum.  Aaron was in heaven.

This was my favorite. Loved the light.

Pike's Market Place
haha what happens when you take a selfie at Pike's Market (psst the sign's backwards)
 thats better

The flowers at Pike's was my favorite part of the market!

playing on a mop guitar!

when at Pike's you get claim chowder.  I'm not a claim chowder fan so I went across the street to Beecher's cheese for some yummy cheese macaroni and a grilled cheese sandwhich.

and one must not miss the gum wall...
Apparently 3 years ago they hosed it all down, and it didn't take long for the wall to come back.  Yuck!  And no for those wondering I didn't add to the wall...

We took the fairy across to Alki Beach

 just look at the view!

enjoying some Hawaiian shaved ice on the beach.  It was a perfect treat to help cool us down.
just trying to find some shade

That night we were lucky enough to get some one on one time with Tiffany and to met her partner Dana.  Dana was awesome they made the cutest couple.  They showed us their darling apartment and after we all went and got some Thai food down the street.  It was a great day.
