Weezer and Sum 41

Concerts 2&3 out of 5 this fall.

I had one of the most epic girls’ weekend! We turned back the clock and went full-on high school nostalgia mode, with better seats, a hotel downtown, and a spa day in between. Pure bliss. 😍

Night one: WEEZER. My high school favorite. They were the first band I ever saw live back when they were touring for the Green Album, and this time they were celebrating 30 years of the Blue Album. The concert was everything. They literally came out of a rocket in search of the “blue planet” yep, it was as wonderfully nerdy and over-the-top as it sounds, and I loved every second. They played hits from all their albums, but once they landed on the "blue planet", they performed the entire Blue Album, in order! So many memories came rushing back singing along like I was 16 again.

Flamming Lips opened for Weezer and I must say it was the most bizarre yet the most fun band opening ever!  Definitely the right pump me up to get ready for for the main event.

seriously love being adults and having money to get good seats!  Plus the blue rocket in the background with a countdown to starting time

The next day we recharged with some delicious food and spa treatments (because again like I said earlier, adulting has its perks), and then it was time for concert #2: Sum 41. Totally different vibe. Loud, high-energy, full-on classic 90's emo rock and roll—with a mosh pit to prove it. Luckily, being older and wiser means we had great seats to enjoy the chaos from a comfortable distance. This was their farewell tour, and I’m so glad we got to be part of it.

Saying their goodbyes.  I swear it was like he looked right at us.

It was the perfect weekend—nostalgia, music, pampering, and the best girlfriends. Felt like high school… only better. 💙🤘

September Happenings

September has been full and sweet!  Its a busy time of year! Here's some more of what occupied our time this month.

Not only did I travel  to Utah to help and watch Brad with his bike race, but I kicked off my 6th year at Grace, back in the classroom with my older 2’s, but whew I forgot how tired back-to-school season makes me!

Bike rides with dad to get donuts

Met my nephew Jack for the very first time when Brad and I were in Utah for LOTOJA. Can’t wait for the boys to get to play with him!

Had a girls lunch at the most adorable little place! A British tea and biscuits place that was amazing.

and even though Lotoja was over, the bike rides never ends with him. Taking advantage while the weather was kind

Scout camps in the heat for Tanner.  I think he's feeling pretty done with scouts.  We'll see.

Soccer season started back up so our Saturdays were spent cheering from the sidelines ⚽

I'm not the only one who gets tired when back to school starts!

Grateful for all of it. Here’s to it officially being fall 🍁❤️

Titans Football

So proud of Tanner for joining the junior high football team this year! 🏈 It’s a no-cut sport, which means anyone who wants to play gets a chance—and Tanner jumped right in, even though he’d never played before. Out of the three teams, he made the middle team (Navy Team), which was such a great accomplishment for his first season!

What impressed me most was his discipline and commitment. He woke up early every morning for practice—even giving up those last few weeks of summer sleeping in—to show up and put in the work. That kind of dedication says a lot.

Because of the arm he broke earlier this year, the doctor couldn’t clear him for contact play yet (it hadn’t been six months since the injury), so he was only allowed to participate in practices. We were hopeful he might be able to suit up for a few games later in the season, but it didn’t pan out. Still, he went to every practice and stood on the sidelines at every game, cheering on his teammates with heart.

We’re hoping next year brings a full season on the field. So proud of this kid’s perseverance and attitude!

LOTOJA # 5

LOTOJA 2025 — Year 5 for Brad! 🚴‍♂️💪

Brad crushed his fifth year riding Lotoja—the legendary 200-mile bike race from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming! This race is no joke, but Brad keeps coming back every year because he loves it—every hill, every mile, every sore muscle. 😂 He trains all year long for this race so he can compete and crush his goals.

This year was special because he rode with a bigger group: “The Holy Spokes” —a mix of high school friends, his ride-or-die brother, and his Texas buddy who (somehow) let Brad talk him into doing it again. The camaraderie, the laughs, and the sheer grit it takes to get through those miles made it one to remember.

I was lucky enough to be there again this year, cheering him on and helping with the support crew alongside his amazing mom who has helped him every year. Watching him push through the miles with such determination is always inspiring.

At the starting line!

Stop #3

We again passed Brad but this time we pulled over at a scenic overlook that seemed popular with other sport crews and got this beautiful look of the Snake River as well as this iconic video:

We have never actually bought the pictures from the race until this year. He has a couple ones that were worth it.
Just love this one of the Tetons as the backdrop

And this close up.

Finish line!

So proud of him. He works incredibly hard all year round and love to see the hard work paying off when he races.

Our dinner celebration with the team and support crews

At breakfast the next morning our waiter told us that this man was the first man to ski down the Tetons. So of course we had to meet him and take a picture.

So proud of you, Brad! Year 5 in the books—bring on year 6! 💥🚵‍♂️🏔️
