I haven't posted a movie in a while so here is a cute video of Carson and Brooklyn.

Mt. Lemon
Tucson does have pine trees! If you go up high enough.
This past weekend we went to Mt. Lemon to get out of the heat and into the cool weather. Its 30 degrees cooler at the top and so it was a nice perfect 70 degrees. We enjoyed the nice scenic drive starting with Saguaro cacti and ending with pine trees and a ski resort. Yes, I did say a ski resort in Tucson. I think its only open for like a week during the winter time.
We had heard the pie at the top of Mt. Lemon was really good so we had to get a slice.

On the way down someone got a little car sick. He usually does so well in the car, but it was really winding. Poor guy.
It was a beautiful drive and we enjoyed seeing some green again!
P.S. For those of you wondering I was able to get the crayon off my walls by using the incredible magic eraser. It was a miracle worker.

Retraction
Can I retract the title of my last post about "luvin this age"? Yesterday made me really start to question that statement.
Yesterday as I'm getting ready for the day I hear a "crunch, crunch" sound coming from Carson. We are in the bathroom so I know that its not food he is eating and immediately investigate. I found him holding my packet of birth control pills and 2 days missing worth of pills. Little stinker. I tried to swipe his mouth out with my finger, but it was too late. So I called poison control. Not to worry they told me the worst that could happen is that he could get a stomach ache (which he never did).
Later that day I heard the water go on in the bathroom and found Carson, with all his clothes on, sitting in the tub soaking wet. Then to top the day off I found that he had colored all over our wall in the study with a black crayon. On my white walls. Walls that have flat paint and therefore extremely hard to clean. This kid is really trying my patience. Is it too early to say he has already entered the terrible two's?

Luvin this age
So Carson has just been astonishing me lately. I still can't believe how much he understands me lately. Just yesterday as we were heading out the door I said, more to myself then to Carson, "where is your water?" Carson then walked into the other room and grabbed his sippy cup and handed it to me. If I ask him to do something he does it. He throws away his diapers and he runs to the door when I say we are going bye-bye.
He is also talking more. At the pool we usually go 1...2...3 and then toss him and he loves it. So now he will come up to Brad or I and say dew....tree! Usually meaning he wants us to throw him. So now anytime we count to 3 he just giggles.
Carson has also made a new friend. All the kids his age by us are all girls and he's never really played well with them, and then a new family moved into our ward who has a boy slightly younger then Carson and they love to chase each other around (still has a hard time sharing, but doesn't every kid?) I don't know how he knows, but he just loves other boys and plays so much better with them.
Now we are counting down the days until nursery. 2 more months just 2 more months.

4th of July Weekend
Don't you just love the 4th of July? There's BBQ, warm weather, and fireworks. This 4th of July weekend we had Brad's brother and his family from Flagstaff come visit. Carson and Brooklyn are pretty much the same age and now that they are older and can actually play together it was really fun to watch them interact. They held hands and would give each other kisses (until I would get the camera out then the kisses stopped).
We had a lot of fun going swimming, going to Madera Canyon for a picnic, and the traditional BBQ and Fireworks. This years fireworks display was so much better then last years, and Carson was so cute he would Ooooh and clap his hands at the fireworks.
I'm so thankful for our county and the freedom that we have as well as for the men and women who have served and are serving to protect that freedom. "God bless America"

Cousin Pictures!
My niece Brooklyn came to town for the 4th of July holiday and we decided to have our wonderful photographer Phillip Flores Productions take some cousin shots for Grandma. Its a little tricky trying to get them both to cooperate, but he managed to get some wonderful shots:

He also got a few of just Carson:
