Moo-llenial (pun off of a blue bell flavored ice cream) mom’s are back! We started our group 3 years ago and did a 5k, last year we did a 10k, so it was only fitting that this year we bump up our game to a half marathon!
I’ve been consistently running since Covid, but my long distances were usually 7/8 miles. Doing 13 miles scared me a bit, but I followed a good running program and would do the long mile runs with friends which helped. I figured out what worked for me pace and nutrition wise and the runs became easier. I was ready!
So here we go! This year we got matching sun glasses!
The run through the country with all the bluebonnets was beautiful! Seriously the prettiest run I’ve done. The pictures don’t do it justice.
The hardest part about running through hill country though is the hills.
But the best part of running the bluebell race, is the all you can eat ice cream at the end!
Lauren! One of my best friends and in this race was my running buddy for most of the race. I was happily surprised I was keeping up with her. Lauren is tall with long legs and I’m not. But we had a good pace and I even got out in front of her at the end (the last hill got to her)
Pretty proud of ourselves! We did it!
Here’s my stats! I’m really proud of how well I did and wonder what my performance would have been without all the hills. Here’s to next year!
