3rd grade celebration of learning
Going to Logan’s Celebration of Learning was such a fun experience. It was great to walk into his third-grade classroom and see all the projects and work he’s been doing this year. From colorful science experiments to creative writing pieces, you could tell how much effort he and all the kids have put in.
One of the best parts was the slideshow of their favorite memories from the year. Seeing Logan’s smiling face up on the screen, surrounded by his friends, was such a proud moment. Whether it was a field trip, a class project, or just a silly moment at recess, each slide was a reminder of how much fun he’s had and how much he’s grown.
It was really nice to be a part of it all, and we left feeling so grateful for his teachers and everything he’s learned this year.

End of school year madness
Logan was on an awesome soccer team this spring and almost went undefeated. They placed second.
Logan also participated in a school store, where they made/created items for other students to buy. Logan made paper airplanes.
Scout advancement! Moving on up from a Bear to a Webelos!
Tanners orchestra concert. He was also asked to perform a dance with the first year orchestra group. He kept it a secret so it was a surprise to see him go out on stage! (This was before his broken arm)
He got his cast!

Broken bones
I was out on a run when my phone rang, and the school nurses number popped up on the screen. That moment the split second when you see that caller ID always makes your heart drop. You never know what you’re about to hear, but you know it’s rarely good news.
Thankfully, I always carry my phone with me on runs, mostly to listen to music, but also for situations just like this. When I answered, the nurse quickly filled me in: during PE, Tanner had been playing soccer when another student side-tackled him. As he fell, he instinctively reached out to catch himself only to end up breaking a bone in the process. There was no doubt it was broken. He was in pain, and he needed to get to the ER as soon as possible.
My mind raced as I took in the news, I was grateful I was only a mile from home.
After we meet with the doctor ( who was very impressed with how the school nurse wrapped his arm) it was off to x-rays.
Both bones broken. Thankful it wasn’t the wrist!
The orthopedic doctor thought the scrape on his arm meant the bone went through the skin meaning he would need surgery to put plates/screws in to fix it.
Fortunately when in surgery and they cleaned the wound they realized that the bone didn’t break though, it was just a scratch from the fall and so thankfully he didn’t need any screws put in!
It was a long day. Got there a little before noon and didn’t get home till almost midnight. We’re tired.
