Weekend Fun

What a non-stop weekend!  Jack came down with his family.  Jack as in "THE Jack".  He's living in Yuma and wanted to see the boys (meaning Brad & Jordan).  Its always fun to see these boys get together.

I've realized that with girls you make friends wherever you are.  We're adaptable.  We need/crave a social life, but with guys their life long friends will always be their high school friends.  Although us wives complain how all they talk about is their "glory" days back at Mountain Crest High.  Its still fun to hear.  I swear I'm always hearing a new story that these boys did, and although I should be used to it by now, I'm always shocked to hear what these hooligans did.

Jordan pulled out the ol' high school/pre-mission pictures and we all got some good laughs at their hairstyles and clothes that they used to wear.  We even got to read some missionary letters that they wrote to each other.  It was a great day.

Seeing the next generation of Jack, Brad, and Jordan play together was just as fun.  Krew fit right in with Carson and Jude.  We went to the park for a picnic and a friend in the ward had a jumping castle for their daughters birthday part and let the kids play.

Although its hard to tell from the pic they are dog piling each other.  Jude on bottom, Carson middle, Krew on top.

After we said our goodbyes we saw that a house behind ours was on fire.  Not something you see everyday and it makes you sick to your stomach thinking about what that family just lost.  Fortunately we learned that it was just a house under construction so no one was hurt/personal belongings destroyed.

Click on the picture to make it bigger and you can see the flames as well as the frame of the house.

Then headed off to our valentines day dance!  Brad and I are both not dancers, but it was free babysitting and we got to mingle with friends.  Even though Brad and I are horrible dancers, somehow "Brad's Muscles" won best male dancer.  I'm pretty positive that Jordan rigged it...

Pictures from the kissing booth:

At the end of the night we got the kiddos to come dance with us.  Carson and Maylin were having fun dancing together and I made them get in the "hugging" booth for a picture (no kissing in this booth for these two until they are at least 30!)

Then Sunday we were able to spend a day in Phoenix with Rich while he is in town for a training.  We took him to one of our favorites (Joe's Farm grill) and then went to see Brian, Catherine and baby Sienna.

So many visitors!  I love it when we have fun/busy weekends.  This coming weekend is going to be just as fun as our little boy turns 4! *tear* He's growing up too fast!

Sleeping

Two days in a row for lunch this is how I'd find Tanner.  This has been a first for either of my children to fall asleep while eating.  To be fair he did get all the rest of his teeth come in at once!  So we are done with teething (for now) until the dreaded two year old molars come in!

My fav!

The past little while Carson has been turning the lamp on next to his bed to help him fall asleep.  So each night before Brad and I would go to sleep we would go into his room to turn the light off.  We would always find him in funny positions so I'd thought I'd capture a few for memories.
Sleeping with all of his angry birds surrounding him!

Superhero Brothers

Found this quote and thought it to be so appropriate for my boys.  Think I'll frame it in their rooms.

All about Carson

Last week the movie Peter Pan came out of the Disney vault.  Although Carson had never seen the movie, he knew all about Peter Pan and Captain Hook from the Disney TV show Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  Carson even dressed up as Peter Pan for our Halloween trip to Disneyland.  So for the past couple of weeks, the movies release was being advertised, and every morning for 2 weeks  Carson would come into my bedroom and say "is Peter Pan out yet?"  Needless to say Carson was very excited to find out that the movie finally came out.

Carson has been watching the movie non-stop.  He loves it.  Right before we put him to bed he'll ask if Peter Pan is coming to his house tonight, he wants to fly to Neverland with Tinkerbell.  One morning Carson come in and asked if Peter Pan came.  I asked him if he could fly yet, so Carson jumps, and then very melancholy says "not yet".  Then he perks up and asks if Peter Pan is on top of our house.  So he rushes outside, only to be disappointed yet again that Peter Pan is not at our house.  Its so cute!  I feel so bad each time, because he gets so excited only to have his hopes crushed.   Needless to say I've been playing Captain Hook a lot and making Carson walk the plank while Carson chases me around the house.

I took the boys to McDonald's this weekend while Brad was away.  There were a lot of kids there and while Carson was off playing away in the play pen, a little boy comes running to his mom saying a 3 year old took off his clothes.  I glance up and low and behold there is Carson wearing only his underwear.  I was mortified.  I snatched him up and got his clothes.  He said he got hot.  I don't think he realized what the big deal was, but we got him back dressed before we got kicked out.  We left McDonald's shortly after.

Carson has been learning a lot in Sunbeams.  Enough to go to preschool that week and tell his class how we are all going to die and that Carson is going to be a prince in heaven and that mommy is going to be a princess, and daddy will be a king.

Oh how I love him!

Lessons from my own lesson

I gave this lesson to the YW on Sunday
and while teaching them this I kept asking them questions about the plan of salvation as if I where their friend at school who knew nothing about the church. The new Young Women curriculum is really trying to prepare these girls to serve missions with the new age requirements.   The lesson went very well and I was pleased at how the girls did.

Coming home from church my neighbors where outside playing soccer.  As soon as we got out of the car Carson rushed over to say hi to their 3 little boys.  My neighbor asked how church went and I told her how I taught a lesson to the teenage girls in our church.  She asked what it was on and I told her it was on what we believe in in life after death.  "Well what do you believe in?" she asked.

I've been living next to her for four years and she knew that we attend church regularly and occasionally asked questions, but never about doctrine.  Its quite one thing to tell her how church works (Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School, and Relief Society/Priesthood) then to bare my testimony, but I did.  It was a simple testimony, and I'm not sure what she even thought about what I said, but I know its true.

If you'd like to learn more about the plan of salvation and what we believe click here.

15 Months

Weight : 23.5 (30%)
Height: 31 inches (50%)
Head circumference: (80%)

My little man is growing!  He is such a fun little guy.  He is turning into a daddy's boy.  Before he was all momma, but now he loves nothing more then to cuddle in Brad's arms.

The other day it rained, a rarity around here, and Tanner was in awe.  All he wanted to do was go play in the rain.  It lasted 2 minutes then he decided to come back inside soaking wet.  It was cute.

He loves to be Carson's sidekick when playing superheros.  He has hated wearing masks before, but now he will grab one and ask to put it on.  He thinks he's pretty cool wearing it.  I do feel kindof bad that he skipped the toddler stage where you're supposed to like cars, trains, and balls.  I guess thats what happens when you have an older brother you just grow up faster.

He got all four of his 1st molars in.  Molars are the worst, and I know round two is just around the corner.  He hasn't learned any new words, recently.  He only says four: momma, dadda, hi, and more.  More just refers to food, so he says more a lot.  He understands a lot though and obeys when Brad or I ask/tell him to do something.

He's still my wide blue eye little boy.  I sure do love him!

I {heart} Aaron

I spoke to Aaron on Skype for the first time, since his accident, on his birthday (January 16).  I was nervous that I wouldn't know the right thing to say.  Anxious of what he was now like and if he would even remember me.

I have spoken to him a few more times since then.  Every time I speak to him he tells me over and over how much he loves me.  He says he loves Brad and my boys and asks when we're going to see him.  It makes me tear up every time.  I wish I could be there to give him a big hug.  To be there to help my mom when he comes home, but I'm thankful for technology which allows me to see him even hundreds of miles away and to tell him that I love him too and I'm so proud of how strong he is becoming.
