Brad doesn't get a spring break. Instead he gets a Mardi Gras break! Either way it was nice to have a week off from school and we took the opportunity to go to San Diego. Last time we came to San Diego we went to the Zoo so we thought we'd do something different and this time we took Carson to Sea World!
It started out as a beautiful ride through the harbor, but once we got to the Ocean we were hit with a blanket of fog. We couldn't see past a 100 feet of the boat. Which made it a monotonous 3 hour boat ride.
However to make things interesting the boat ride became not about whale watching, but instead a contest to see who has the biggest stomach. The waves were huge! Tables, chairs, and people where sliding across the boat. There were about 25 people in the belly of the boat huddled around sick. Towards the end I was feeling a little green, but am proud to say I held it down. With the boat rocking so much it actually lolled Carson to sleep. I don't know if the waves were from the Tsunami or not, but needless to say it was miserable.
Unfortunately with the fog it made it hard to see anything and we did not see any whales. We did however see a lot of dolphins, and have a free voucher pass to go back. So if anyone is taking a trip to California and wants to go whale watching we have 3 free tickets.
This weekend we took Carson to the park to practice his swing. He loved running around and playing ball with dad. It was cute to watch.
This year our church starts at 2:00 and ends at 5:00. Awful? Yes. Nap time for Carson usually starts at 1, but Carson takes really long naps. Usually 3-4 hour long naps, so having church right in the middle of nap time is horrible. Sometimes Carson gets a short little nap before church, other times not. Yesterday was a day he wouldn't take a nap. So by the time we got home from church, he asked for some milk went straight to the couch, put on a blanket, and in a matter of seconds he was out. He never falls asleep anywhere, but his crib, so this was a rare occasion and we had to document it.

We also went on a Whale watching tour. We went on the day of the big tsunami that struck Japan and there were lots of worries about how it might effect San Diego. However our tour was already bought and payed for and our boat was still set to sail so we went.

On our last day we went to the beach, and of course with Murphy's law it was the coldest day there. We had to see if Carson liked the beach more then he did last time (he hated the feel of the sand) and we are happy to say that he loved it!
Unfortunately we didn't stay as long as I would have wanted at the beach, because it was so cold. We still had a great time and can't wait till our next visit.
