We sure love our daddy! We celebrated Father's Day a week early since the kids and I will be in Utah, and the kids had fun spoiling our daddy. We sure do appreciate all that he does for us. He works incredibly hard and loves spending time with the boys. He loves to take them to the movies on his days off, take them to the park or pool, help Carson with his homework, and there is always a wrestling match going on. We are so grateful for this man in our lives!

Weezer!
For Mothers Day, Brad bought me tickets to go see Weezer! Weezer was my high school band and I saw them in concert after their green album was released. Now 13 years later I was back to see them after their white album was released.
I felt like I was back in high school. Not only listening to the music, but by being at a rock concert again. I used to be a groupie to my boyfriends garage band and would follow him around to all the local battle of the bands concerts. Betcha didn't know that about me.

The other bands that played were Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and Panic! at the Disco. This picture was taken when Panic played a song by Queen. Everyone got out their lights and started swaying them. That song was one of the highlights of the night.
So you could totally tell a difference of who came to see who. The Weezer crowd was definitely more preppy, had a California vibe to them vs. Panic who's crowd was more rock and roll and a little (dare I saw it) trashy.
It was such a fun date night to get out, let loose dancing, and belt out all the lyrics to some of my favorite songs. Another favorite band from the late 90's/early 00's is coming in July. I might just have to relieve some more high school memories by going to that one too.

Color Fun Run
While talking to my friend Jenni at one of the boys soccer games, we decided to do a 5k together. We found a color run that was coming up and was free for the kids to race so we thought it would be a fun one to do with everyone.
It had rained much of the day, but stopped right before the race. So the evening was perfect. Nice and overcast and not humid. The race ended up being half on a field and half on pavement, so running through the field was more like running through a giant mud puddle. Lots of people were losing their shoes! It was more of a mud/color run! The kids still had fun though. We got to see some parachuters jump from a helicopter, which was cool. Plus we got ice cream at the end which was a win win.

I think we'll do it again next year! Hopefully it doesn't rain this time, it made it one messy run!

Last Day of 1st Grade: Carson
Another year just flew by. Carson finished the 1st grade. How is this possible? He's going to be a 2nd grader!
He really had an amazing year. He was awarded the Student Character of Kindness and made the honor roll. Once again he excelled in school. He is reading 4th grade level books and loves doing math & science. His teacher said he is very inquisitive, great at making friends, and making sure everyone is included.
I love this boy and the amazing kid he is turning into.
Last Day of School:
First Day:
Here are some pictures his teacher took of him throughout the year:
This year Carson was selected to have a buddy! The buddy program is where a local high school student comes and plays with him each Friday. Carson's teacher said they couldn't have picked a better buddy for Carson. They were two peas in a pod. and looked like they could be brothers. Plus she said that when they walked together all the teachers got a kick out of it because as you can tell the height difference between these two makes you smile. Carson loved Fridays when Grant came to school to play and I'm so glad Carson was one of the few students in the school to get a buddy!
At Carson's celebration of Learning. We were able to see all of Carson's artwork and school work that he has done throughout the year. His class made another treasure book titled "What can we Be" (these books are one of my favorite things that this school does each year!) and each student wrote a page of what they wanted to be when they grow up. Carson said he wanted to be a karate teacher. (The weekend before they wrote this he went to a karate birthday party) He told Brad and I though that what he really wants to be is a scientist.
Carson received the Mr. Manners award. So proud of this boy!
We loved Ms. Bartee! She was so great.
Here is our bus stop group for our annual last day of school picture
As well as our annual end of year after school bus stop water fight!
So long 1st grade it was a great year! 2nd grade here we come!

Memorial Day Weekend
It was so fun to have a 4 day weekend with both dad and Carson home to play! For the most part it was a very relaxing and low key weekend, but we did get some playing in! We stayed up late and slept in. Played games, and had lots of popsicles. It was hard when Tuesday rolled around and Carson had to go back to school (only for 2 1/2 days lame!)
The pools opened up this weekend and the kids where in heaven! We made a couple trips this weekend to the pools. Logan loved the splash pad I tried to get him to go into the pool and he was really hesitant. Then Brad took him into the pool and he was having a blast. So much so that he kept trying to jump in the deep end without having help. This kid. I gotta keep a close eye on him!
The older boys loved the bucket dump water on them. They could spend all day in a pool if we'd let them! The kids are going to have a blast this summer at the pools!
And Memorial Day wouldn't be complete without having a hamburger at a hole in the wall place thats under an underpass. The burger was delicious!
