He Did the Monster Mash

I was going to wait for Halloween but they were too adorable and I couldn't wait! We went to our friend Kylee's house to take our babies pictures in their Halloween costumes. They turned out so cute! Thanks Ky!

Professor Clark

Brad returned to school today, but not as a student he was the professor. OK more like a guest speaker, but still I think its pretty impressive. He is giving a lecture on noise to an Engineering class at the University of Arizona.

I have a hard enough time teaching a lesson to my primary class let alone a bunch of Engineering students because unlike my primary class they actually pay attention and (gasp) might even ask questions! So I'm pretty impressed and very proud of my academic husband.

Carson vs. the Coffee Table

Now that Carson is crawling and climbing all over the place we knew it was only a matter of time before he would get hurt. His favorite thing to do now is to pull himself up on our coffee table and as you can tell from the video our coffee table isn't child friendly, but he still loves it.

So today as he yet again pulled himself up to stand he lost his footing and smacked his head. I know it doesn't look like much but it was still sad and a little scary to see some blood. But before I knew it he was back trying to climb the coffee table yet again.

I know that this is only the beginning to his path of bumps and bruises.

(its that little red mark by his eye)
You will probably be seeing a lot more videos now. Our families loved the last one and are wanting more so ask and you shall receive:

Apple Annie's

We went with some friends to Apple Annie's Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard. We had so much fun! We went on a hayride, picked our family pumpkin, Carson played in the corn feed (he hated it when we tried to bury him alive), did part of the Corn Maze, and ate some hamburger and apple pie in the apple orchard. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful fall activity.

The Look of Pure Disgust

Recently Carson has taken a disliking to baby food. He used to LOVE it and now as you can tell from the pictures will not eat it. He now wants anything and everything that mom and dad has especially our food. I think now that he has gotten a taste of the "good life" there is no return back to plain old baby food. Sigh. Its funny because even some of the table food we have given him that we can tell he obviously doesn't like he still wants to eat it because we are eating it so therefore it must be good. So now I guess its time to pull out the magic bullet and start giving him the good stuff.

My favorite: He looks like he is going to kill me with those eyes!

A Tooth!

My baby has a tooth! I noticed it Tuesday (October 6) when he grabbed my finger and started chewing on it. Immediately I felt something that I knew normally wasn't there and got so excited! It is his bottom right tooth and the tooth next to it came in today. My little baby is growing up! I kept hearing how teething is horrible and I was completely dreading it, but Carson showed no symptoms at all! What a champ!

Our attempt to try and get picture of it. No luck the tongue gets in the way. Sorry!
So instead you get a picture of his teething ring. New favorite toy.
In other amazing Carson news I took him to get his flu shot yesterday and Carson didn't even cry! I was stunned the nurses were amazed (considering they had to have a couple nurses hold down a 5 year old girl right before Carson). Yup that's my baby.

His teeth taken a week later:

Carson Talking II

I know you guys must be sick of all the pictures and videos of Carson but when you live 13 hours away from family this is how our families get to see Carson grow, over the internet. Grandma Clark asked for a video of Carson talking and I got to play with it a bit on iMovie with the help from a friend who taught me how to use it.

Introducing the long awaited sequel to Carson Talking:

P.S. Carson loves to watch the videos of himself. He gets a huge smile on his face, flaps his arms, and tries to talk to himself. Its very cute

7 Months

Weight: 16.2 (between the 5-10 percentile)

Each month seems to come quicker and quicker. Wow 7 months. This past month has had a lot of firsts but I think I say that every month. Carson started crawling, standing up by himself (with support), eating in his new highchair, and had his first graham cracker. Carson LOVES to roar and crawl to things he is not supposed to have. He sure keeps us on our toes.

Update on Brad

Brad's surgery went really well yesterday. Although it went from being a supposedly 1 hour procedure to 2 hours. The infection in his mouth was worse then what the doctor thought and spread to Brads old implant. The infection was disintegrating the bone around his old implant so the doctor had to do a bone graft not only on the tooth that was extracted but on his old implant as well. He also put a support by his old implant. So I am very glad Brad had this procedure done when he did who knows what would have happened to his old implant if he waited. I'm also thankful that we switched doctors and had a very knowledgeable and competent doctor.

Brad is healing nicely and was on a cold liquid diet yesterday and now on a soft food diet for the next two weeks. He is tired from the medication and his mouth is swollen, but aside from the fact that I can't make him laugh he seems to already be back to normal today.
