4th of July

4th of July Fun!
Went to the Layton parade! I don’t think I have actually ever gone to my hometown’s 4th of July parade before! Growing up we would sleep over at my cousins house down in Provo or go to my dads office for the Kaysville parade. It was fun to actually participate in and cheer on my childhood schools.

Plus Layton gives out great popsicles!

Getting ready to get the candy! 🍬
Staying nice and cool in the shade

Go LHS!
Tanner was able to walk with Masons soccer team in the parade! They had fun!
After the Layton parade was over and we were packing up we heard of the terrible tragedy that happened at the Kaysville parade. A little 9 year old cheerleader was sadly ran over and passed away. It was such sad news, just devastating.

Staying cool by getting ice cream while waiting for Mason and Tanner to come back from their float.

That afternoon we had a 4th of July BBQ over at Rich and Kami’s with the family. We saw fireworks down by Grandma and Grandpa Clark’s the day before and so that satisfied us enough that no one wanted to brave the crowds again to see the Layton fireworks.

Even though the summer was once again filled with political strife and contention (ever since Covid it’s just one thing after another) it’s still nice to celebrate the 4th and remember that we really are blessed to live in this wonderful country.
